205

Apartment 205 is a nice 1-bedroom on the second floor – toward rear of property, so it’s quiet and has a nice view of the trees on the terraces behind the building. This apartment has nicely divided living spaces featuring some nice architecture – 2 large windows with deep sills at one end of the Living Area and 3 more windows in the bedroom, a high ceiling (~10 feet in some places), plus an old doorway in a masonry wall and some old wood wainscoting in different areas of the apartment. A coat closet right next to the front door offers hanging space plus floor space and a shelf above. There is about 580-600 square feet of living space, and there is wall-to-wall carpet in the living room and bedroom, while the bathroom and kitchen are original linoleum to make for easy cleanup.  Walking into the apartment, the kitchen is to the left, bedroom and bath to the right and a 25-foot deep ‘great room’ spreads out before you, ending at those 2 huge windows.  The ceiling rises from 8 feet to almost 10 over the ‘living room’ area and there’s a big ceiling fan up there to help circulate both cool and hot air at different times.  Looking back at the entry area reveals the sides of a thick old concrete archway on either side of the front door- very cool!

The bedroom is about 12×14, with those 3 big windows with deep sills – one window faces west so it gets nice afternoon light. Shut the door and the BR feels very separate from the living space, but it’s right next to it. There are two nice size closets off the bedroom with about 10-feet of hanging space and the floor space below for storage and about 9 feet of shelf (1-ft wide) above the hanging rods (totals for both closets combined). There’s also a little linen closet or storage closet right outside the bedroom and bathroom doors.  This apartment has a good amount of closet space, as compared to other apartments in the building.
The kitchen is right off the living area, and has decent counterspace and a good amount of cabinet space, a full stove/range plus a dishwasher and fridge, and enough outlets for a bunch of food-prep gizmos.  Overall it’s not fancy, but it has what you need.  Similarly, in the Bath, one will find a tub/shower, a newer toilet and sink -pretty simple – just what you need, not much extra. As mentioned above, the linen closet on the way into the bathroom adds storage capacity with its 4 shelves.
As with all apartments, there is a smoke detector installed, as well as a nice ceiling fan.  Being on the West end of the building means this apartment gets afternoon sun all year, and since it’s on the back side of the building, it is also usually nice and quiet.  Being in between the 1st and 3rd floors will help with both heat and cooling, as the other apartments help to heat/cool and insulate this unit at different times throughout the year.

Note that this apartment is considered pet-friendly, so you may have a cat or a small, well-behaved, friendly and quiet dog living here.  For the privilege of keeping a pet, there is a $25 monthly fee added to the rent, and there is a non-refundable $100 cleaning deposit added to the normal Security Deposit.
