Apartment 103 is a convenient and truly special living space, featuring beautiful architecture and unique accents. Located right inside the main entrance to the building, it’s a 1-Bedroom unit with a living room and dining room, plus a nice kitchen that opens right into the living space, for a very user-friendly layout. It starts with a long hallway that opens into the living area and as soon as you walk in there is a unique view greeting you every time. Walking down the hall, you pass the bathroom on the right, then the kitchen opening on the left, immediately across from the bedroom door on the right, and then you come into the dining room which has this amazing wall and doorway feature, dividing it from the living room. So cool! The apartment offers probably about 675 +/- square feet of living space, which is divided nicely among the different areas. There is wall-to-wall carpeting in the living areas and bedrooms, with vinyl in the kitchen and bathroom, plus the entryway. Each room features architectural touches that add to the atmosphere if the apartment – you won’t find another place like this anywhere! Windows in the living area are unique (see pics) and large, one side facing East, the other due West for good morning and afternoon light. The PortHole windows across the back of the step-up living room are just so cool – and the most amazing thing may be the scalloped ceiling around those round windows. Never see anything like this anywhere else, I bet.
The bedroom is separate from the living area – it’s like another world. Walk down a 6-foot hallway away from the living area to get in there. Not huge, but a decent size which can be made to be very cozy, and/or the bedroom can be made very dark if desired, since it has just one window. This apartment is on the back side of the building so it’s nice and quiet, too.
Across the hall from the bedroom is the bright kitchen, featuring great counterspace and cabinet space, plus a full-size fridge, dishwasher and range/stove. As mentioned, the kitchen opens right into the living area so access is easy.
The bathroom is small and efficient, just what you need and not a lot extra – sink, toilet and tub/shower, plus a little linen closet in there, too. Along with a vanity light and vent fan, there is also a heater and thermostat in there, so you do not have to heat up the whole place just to have a warm bathroom – a nice touch.
On the subject of closets, in addition to the linen closet, there is a nice-sized closet on the way into the bedroom that has about 6-feet of hanging rod, plus the floor space underneath and a shelf above. And there’s another closet in the dining area (coat closet? storage closet?) that also offers hanging rod, floor and shelf space.
As in all the apartments, the heat is Electric, so in the winter the electric bill will be bigger; how much bigger depends on your level of heat and your management of the heat when you’re not home. This apartment has 5 thermostats (yes 5!) to heat all the different areas (LR, DR, BR, Ba, Hall) and so the resident must manage the heat to avoid sticker shock in the winter months!
